Been looking at the Best Japanese imports for UK buyers lately and I’m honestly surprised how much choice there still is under £10k if you don’t mind going a bit older.
I’m based in Manchester and want something reliable but still interesting to drive. I was originally looking at a Mk8 Civic Type S, but now I’m drifting toward imports because the specs seem better for the money. Been seeing a few Toyota Crown hybrids, Honda Stepwgns, and even some older Subaru Legacys popping up with decent auction grades.
Main things I’m worried about are:
I’ve got around £8k to £10k max including registration and first-year costs. Not really after a full-on performance car, but I wouldn’t mind something a bit different from the usual Golf/Astra stuff.
Anyone imported recently or bought through a dealer here? Curious what models people would actually recommend in 2026 for daily UK driving.
